Site History

On the 27th of March 2003 the first pages of this site were created. WHY?

The idea for the site came initially from my deciding to take up restoration of Vintage Radios and Electronics (as a hobby) after a gap of some 40 years. In the very early 1960's I did work as an apprentice on Radio & Television repair but left to take up a career in Avionics (Airplane Electronics). To see some of the aircraft I worked on use this link:  Aircraft
In trying to restart I discovered that it was difficult to obtain information via the WWW on the subject unless you knew what you were looking for. Hence this site was created partly to put the information I and others have collected in one place and partly out of vanity. Thanks to the many people who kindly supply information or pictures for the site.
