Crystal Radio Set Coils from the 1950's

Throughout the 1950's and 60's the following coils were specified in many articles on crystal sets published in the UK. The circuits that came with the coils have been built and although both worked I found that the Teletron was slightly better for tuning range.However the Repanco excelled after dark and did have a Longwave winding as well.These are all original items.

The pictures above show the Repanco Crystal Receiver Coil in circuit the components are as follows: a single pole switch to change the waveband, Diode 1N34, 500pf Dilecon Variable Capacitor and of course the coil.	The photographs show the crystal set driving a transistor amplifier with very good results. During daylight Virgin Radio was the dominant station but after dark many European stations were evident.
